Community Update: Recent Burglary Reports & Ongoing Police Activity

We’re aware of the recent rise in burglary reports across the area and want to reassure you that local policing activity is being directed accordingly. Patrols have been increased in key locations, and officers are carrying out targeted work to identify those responsible.

This week, one male was arrested and charged in connection with an attempted burglary. While this is a positive step, our efforts are continuing to drive down offences and keep our communities safe.

To help protect your home and belongings, here are some simple but effective crime‑prevention measures:

🔐 Secure doors and windows — even when you’re at home or only stepping out briefly.
💡 Use timer switches or leave a light on to make your home look occupied.
📷 Consider CCTV or video doorbells to act as both a deterrent and an evidence source.
🚪 Keep side gates locked and store tools or ladders out of sight.
👀 Look out for neighbours, especially those who may be vulnerable.
👜 Don’t leave valuables in view — inside the home or in vehicles.

Finally, please remember:

👁️ Report any suspicious activity or behaviour that feels out of place.
